On the checkout page, I get $2500 off, but on this page:https://www.inspirato.com/campaigns/membership-offer I can see this "PURCHASE A CORE MEMBERSHIP WITH YOUR AMERICAN EXPRESS® CARD BY FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2015 AND SAVE $5,000.*"

Still waiting for an answer.

Got my answer
Hi Alex,

Thank you for the note. We have 8,000 members that paid the initiation fee to join Inspirato. Unfortunately the offer your friend received was sent to a small batch of Centurion card members, and American Express paid the initiation fee for them to join. The Centurion member paid the annual membership fee with their Amex and received $400 off the annual dues as well.

Inspirato and American Express had this agreement as part of the partnership launch and press release that took place in March 2013. Our club did not know who received the offer from American Express until that person called us and gave us the unique code. We then would verify with Amex before the person could enroll.

To answer your question, yes, we have a better offer than the automatic $2,500 off the initiation fee, and $400 off the annual dues. Inspirato has a promotion between now and March 20th for $5,000 off the initiation fee for Core using any credit card at joining. This brings the $17,500 initiation fee down to $12,500, plus $3,200 for the annual dues if you are an Amex cardmember ($3,600 for the annual fee without an Amex).

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have questions and would like to connect by phone.

Regards,
I know it's not fair for the one who paid $17.5k to join, but not sure I'm willing to invest that money in at this time.

Will wait!

1) their IT is nearly as bad as Starwood's. Yes, it's a valid zip code. I'm quite sure of that as it has been my zip code for 6 years.

2) When I finally got it to like me, I think I got the standard offer:
AMERICAN EXPRESS® CARD MEMBERS - RECEIVE AN IMMEDIATE $2,900 DISCOUNT
When you pay for your Inspirato membership using your American Express® Card, you'll receive an immediate discount. Receive $2,500 off the one-time Initiation Fee and $400 off the annual membership fee every year that you pay for your membership with your American Express Card.

3) You're mailing a virtual gift card, seriously? You're as inane as Achievmint.

I also asked about getting the fee waived to try out a single property slash for the first year and was given the same response as PP alelex.

My wife and I (and our 3 kids) have been Inspirato CORE members for almost a year now, and we absolutely love it. We have an AMEX Platinum and received the $2,500 off full price initiation ($17,500) plus the $400 off annual renewal. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the program/properties/fees/etc.

We debated joining for a while before finally deciding to move forward. It was the absolute right decision for us. Inspirato is nothing like a timeshare, and I really view it like joining a high end country club (initiation fee, yearly dues, pay-as-you-go rates that are lower than what you would be paying outside the club)...the more you use it, the better the deal it is. The properties are all 5-star; they're absolutely stunning and immaculately maintained.

It works if you typically stay at high end resorts without using points for vacation (ie, Four Seasons), and you need more than one or two bedrooms and you like to have resort amenities/first class service (personal vacation specialist, destination concierge who does everything from stocking groceries to scheduling activities, private chefs, etc).

We have met a good number of other families in the first year of our membership, and the approximately 8,000 members range from couples and large families that have the means to spend a lot on vacations to well-known celebrities & athletes.

Feel free to PM me or ask any questions in this thread. I will give you honest feedback about the pros & cons we debated prior to joining, as well as our experiences as members thus far.

amex contacted a residence owner on behalf of inspirato seeking to lease their residence? interesting. always good to see that some are real leases and not just brokering rentals.

a few inspirato properties are only available through Inspirato and Exclusive Resorts, you cant rent them direct / elsewhere. only way i would join is for when i want to book something not available elsewhere, or if they were cheaper than elsewhere.

As I recall at the time, and from discussions here on FT, there were Platinum members who were also sent the offer of the waived initiation fee.

I would be interested in the Trios membership since we don't need multiple bedrooms, and possibly even combined with a flex / select membership since we also don't tend to travel during peak times of the year. However, we would not use it enough to justify the initiation fee.

If AmEx would offer Centurion members the waived initiation fee on one of these 'lesser' memberships, I would be interested.

I received an email offering me a $25 AMEX giftcard for registering for Inspirato. It was a targeted promotion.

As a member, I thought I would jump in here. One of the things my wife and I did in our deliberations prior to joining was to compare the rates through Inspirato versus booking outside (ie, Solaris in Vail). This was an area where we really saw the value with Inspirato. It's hard to do this with some of the homes not connected to a resort, but the resort properties are much easier to directly compare. Rates were upwards of $500-$1000 less per night at many of these properties. So, you can actually pay for the initiation fee very quickly depending on how you would typically vacation. I highly recommend using the Inspirato website and comparing to other site (Solaris in Vail, the Fairmont in Maui, Esperanza in Cabo, Setai in South Beach, ).

Inspirato's "Siganture Residences" are 100% exclusive to Inspirato members. For example, if Inspirato has a certain number of residences at a particular resort, those residences will only be used by Inspirato members. That said, you can still price shop by comparing the same category of residences between Inspirato's site and the resort's website.

I got this too. I'm sure they will hound you over the phone to join after filling out the form, I wonder if putting a "mistyped" phone number would still yield receipt of the gift card?

I am amused that a $25 giftcard is the chosen marketing spiff for a company renting homes for thousands of dollars per week.

That's simply the promo to complete a free registration for the Inspirato website....not for actually joining the program. You have to register for the website to be able to view the property detail.

The most recent promo for actually joining was $5,000 off the initiation fee.

rates do vary, and "deals" also exist, but always worth shopping around

https://www.inspirato.com/jaunt/jaunt-now >
amazing values on Inspirato Signature Residences over the following two weeks
$295/night the first week and $495/night the second week
value (of discount) depends on regular rates

other deals, more vague https://www.inspirato.com/jaunt/jaunt-52

have you checked the leases for every property? is there an audit to check whether they rent to 3rd parties or include in hotel inventory?

some i was referring to included those leased from Exclusives Resorts on Sea Island and Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman. they were custom built by Exclusive Resorts. no one can rent them. anywhere. thats what i was talking about. although Exclusive Resorts does currently have an option where you just buy blocks of 21 nights.

originally, ER owned all 8 3BR condohotel at ritz carlton ft lauderdale, now sold
ER also owns most of the #00 2BR units at trump chicago
ive followed ER (and other destination clubs) for about 9 years now

while i would not be in the market right now, i wish there was a destination club that owned at amanresorts and four seasons that i could look forward to saving up for. oh well.

"Jaunt" is a weekly special that happens every Wednesday at 3:00pm Eastern Time. Because all Signature Residences are exclusive to Inspirato members (not resold on the secondary market or given back to the resorts to sell), they are a perishable item. So, Inspirato sells dates during the first 7 nights (Friday to the following Thursday) for $295/night and the second Friday through the following Thursday for $495/night.

The average nightly rate at an Inspirato residence is $1000 to $1,500 per night, depending on the specific location and time of year. For example, you could get a Jaunt to Maui for $295/night, where a similar 3-Bedroom property through the Fairmont, Andaz or Montage Kapalua could be north of $2,000 per night. It would be a "Deal" to begin with at the normal rates, but if you can drop everything and book a trip in the next week or two, $295 or $495 is an absolute steal.

"Jaunt 52" is similar to Jaunt (released every Wed at 3:00pm Eastern), but it is for trips up to one year away. So, you could plan further in advance than one or two weeks, as with the regular Jaunt. Recently, there have been "Jaunt 52" specials to Solaris in Vail for anywhere from $795 to $995/night, whereas it would have cost you over $3,000/night if you booked directly through Solaris (same category of room, just not the exact same residence).

You are absolutely right about the properties across from the Ritz in Grand Cayman. The founders of Inspirato also founded Exclusive Resorts, so they still have a relationship. Inspirato leases two of these residences ("Starlet" and "Coral") from Exclusive Resorts. As with all Signature Residences, these properties are 100% exclusive to Inspirato members. While Exclusive Resorts owns them, only Inspirato members have access to both of those properties. The rest of the properties are for Exclusive Resorts members and whoever else Exclusive Resorts sold/leased to.

Because of the relationship between Inspirato and Exclusive Resorts, Inspirato has leased properties at Sea Island, the Ritz in Ft. Lauderdale, the Trump in Chicago and many others.
