Unbelievable as it may sound, this restaurant, situated in a renovated tenement on the Lower east Side, sits on a body of water. The place has 3 floors (maybe more) and the bottom floor, the most desired to sit on, has its tables ond walkways on a metal grill.

The walls are dark red, with a skylight in one of them, and the whole place is very "in" right now. It really does have a great atmosphere, and I usually dont go for that.

The food though, while very good - was not what I expected. The restaurant is advertised as a tapas bar, but it turns out its only available at the bar. The table service is a full menu, and the waitresses recommended we order 4 dishes and share them. The most memorable was a "char" or fish dish, grilled and spiced.

Good drinks and a great atmosphere in this instance outweigh the good but not great food.

3.5* (out of 5)
