Brunch?

I know this is short notice but can anyone recommend a brunch in NYC? I'm looking for something fun for just me this Sunday, 11/10, as I am traveling alone.(*sigh*) http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...orum/smile.gif

I have resrvations mid-town but am hoping to get into the Battery park Ritz-Carlton, (employee discount). Anywhere in any of the boroughs would be fun as I like a good adventure and have no other plans. (p.s. I don't drink so champagne/Bloody Marys don't really have a bearing.

Was thinking of dim-sum in Chinatown?

If you want dim sum, try Oriental Garden on Elizabeth Street in Chinatown. It is smaller and calmer than some other places and, IMHO, a bit better in quality. If you want to the huge cavernous Hong Kong experience, you can try Jin Fong right next door to Oriental Garden.

Afterwards, walk north to Little Italy for coffee and cannoli.

Ended up with some friends of firends and Ate at a little diner in the village called, Hudson's. (I think). Big omlet and a nice size lettuce salad. Ordinary food, great unremodeled diner atmosphere, big portions, typical prices. (BTW 70 cent cuppa cuppa... THAT was nice)

Thanks for the info and emails,

Joe

p.s. Tomorrow gonna try lunch at Balthazar or Bar 89.

I am looking for Sunday brunch in Mid-town for the 22nd. Perhaps one that resembles more of an English tea? Or, a spot for tea, other than the Plaza if there are any suggestions in that category.

How about the new Ritz-Carlton on Central Park West? I have heard rave reviews about the place though nothing about tea/brunch specifically.

TThanks. That's a good idea. After posting the note, I paid the $14.95 for Zagats and have tentatively decided on the TriBeca Grille. I know, it's downtown, but might impress my guests from Houston who are a bit jaded.

In the West Village, there is Tea and Sympathy which is an anglophile's dream. This may be what you are looking for. http://www.flyertalk.com/dining/ftdi...orum/smile.gif

I was also going to recommend Tea & Sympathy.

When youre at Tribeca Grill, just look across the street and up one block at the tall building with the umbrella in front of it. Thats where I am right now.

Gosh, that spot had escaped me and me, an Anglophile of the nth degree! If we don't go on the 22nd, I shall be sure to try it out another of my days in NY.

Thanks!
