Yeah I went to a comedy club in the village a couple of months ago that required a vaccine and they accepted my Excelsior pass. But that isn't quite the same as a coffee shop or a McDonalds. There are lots of demonstrations here in France against this idea and I wonder if the same will happen in NYC.

The process shouldn't be horribly hard: Go to counter, show card or pass, container provided denotes whether you are allowed to stay. Red coffee cup = stay, Green cup = consume outside. At McD, you get a tray if you provide proof. I'll leave HIPPA compliance to the lawyers.

I suspect that New Yorkers will resort to legal challenges. I doubt that there will be any large demonstrations except possibly on Staten Island.

Fast food in NYC just reopened their dining rooms, with the proof of vax coming I assume those dining rooms will be closed down again as fast food resturants do not want to spend the human capital on checking for vax status just like they didn't spend the capital in recording names and contact info for contact tracing and keeping the dining rooms open.

I love that the "indoor entertainment" category includes "adult entertainment".

Proof of vaccination for visitors

Might be a bit early asking this, but I'm coming to NYC from the UK for Thanksgiving and I see there's a vaccine mandate for most indoor activities. I don't believe I can get any of the US apps to demonstrate this as my vaccinations were carried out in the UK, so do people think restaurants will accept the NHS (official UK government issued app) pass that shows what Covid vaccinations I've had, when, what batch, where etc?

Download the NYC Covid Safe app. You basically just upload a picture of your vaccine card and an ID, anything more or less will be accepted, I can’t imagine they will have a problem with an NHS card and a British passport.

That’s the iOS version, I’m sure there’s an android app too.

Do the NYC H+H covid testing locations provide documentation suitable for travel? I have a flight next Friday for a weekend mileage run/trip and since I'm coming back to the US on Monday, I can test as early as Friday. I see that NYC H+H has a pop up location at JFK, which would be super convenient since I have to go past there anyway and then don't have to worry about it at my destination.

I'm just curious if they provide written or digital results suitable for travel back to the US.

As I was watching the local NYC news, specifically Spectrum News NY1, on TV this evening, the following item was scrolling across the bottom of the screen. When it comes to vaccination, NYC is indeed ahead of the rest of the country!

Some Walgreens and CVS in NYC are asking you to justify your booster shot request by proving you are older than 65 or employed as an essential worker. They are claiming they are in compliance with FDA/CDC guidance even though the Mayor has directed that anyone 18 or older can get a booster.

However, a CVS spokeswoman told News 4 New York: “We understand that some states may expand the criteria for COVID-19 boosters, but our participation in the Federal Pharmacy Program requires us to follow recommendations from the FDA and CDC.”
But this morning,

FDA authorizes Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna coronavirus vaccine boosters for all adults
