What have people experienced in Security delays due to Govt shutdown at NYC airports

I have upcoming flights LGA-MSY and JFK-LHR (PreCheck both). A recent article in the Dail Mail said lines were getting longer at both airports and that PreCheck lanes were being closed.

I have seen threads on this topic on various airline boards so if this is an AA flight then pop over to the AA board for example.

Speaking of NYC airports... HPN

On Thursday morning at 0600 (while TSA were still getting paid), the Global Entry/Pre-check) line had 1 person in front of me. The regular line was much longer than normal. The line snaked around to the baggage claim area. Estimated 25 minute line with 1 lane open.

Westchester Airport?

A New York City airport according to everyone except anyone who lives in or travels to New York City. ;-)

Westchester is a metro NYC airport, as is Islip. No need to have separate threads. This board has local and out of town readers.

Are immigration lines much longer due to the government shutdown? JFK T4, to be specific.

I arrived around 7.30 - 8.00 pm last Wednesday and it was all very smooth. But then again there didn’t appear to be many international arrivals at that time.

All it takes is an arrival from an exotic destination and the lines build up quickly.

Curious about JFK T4 since I'm flying out late afternoon in the TATL bank in a couple weeks.

Thanks.

Yeah, Sunday afternoon might pose a different set of problems than a Wednesday night.

LGA ground stop breaks the deadlock in Washington

It is quite appropriate that a ground stop @ LGA forced an end to the US government shutdown today. According to CA news reports, flights to/from LGA were delayed by up to 2 hours.
I transited both SFO & EWR mid week. While neither was shutdown, averyone at the security checkpoints was talking about the impact of Trump's shutdown on airports.

I experienced a 2 hour delay at EWR earlier this month due to long lines at United's checkin. Thank God I got there early or I would have missed my flight.
