I have a midweek 0600 flight. Any highway reports in the 0430 - 0500 neighborhood? Specifically the GCT coming from the Whitestone.

I arrived back at LGA at 10:45 this morning. The arrival and departure roadways were normal. Same goes for the Grand Central.

I can't comment on the roadway/highway activity at 0500. I exited the Grand Central at Astoria Blvd (coming from Westchester), then searched for a spot. Parking was a nightmare. I finally found a spot on 98th street just off Astoria. That was a 20 minute walk to the UA/AA/SW terminal. My average walk over the years is 12 minutes. Was this a one-off, or was it due to the lack of parking at LGA?

When I went to pick up my car at 11:00 this morning, there were plenty of spots. Go figure. As always, if you plan on street parking, read the signs.

Has the traffic congestion at LGA eased at all? Have they reopened that 94th street entrance to the terminals? That seemed to be the major cause of all the congestion.

The 94th exit was open last Thursday. You had to drive a hundred yards further west, before the loop backtracking to the terminal.

There should be zero issues getting to LGA at that time, IME.

LGA has gotten so bad that one of my wife's coworkers has basically sworn off of flying out of there unless it's an early morning flight. Better for any work travel that she has to end up on, as EWR's relative accessibility will mean more miles for her on UA.

No problems getting around/out of LGA on a Monday night around 8:30-9pm (via M60 bus).

Does anyone know if they are publishing schedules of the planned work that will be happening or because this is nyc, that is too much to ask for?

Have some upcoming flights (Nov/DEC) I need to book and LGA is both cheaper and at a more convenient time than JFK/EWR (which is not usually the case for my destinations). Risk it or stick with trusty JFK?

I arrived into LGA on Sunday at 3pm and left on Tuesday about 4pm with minimal traffic. All out of Terminal C.
Leaving the airport, we ended up taking quite a strange route. I could see if that were the only way out, it could get quite crowded on a weekday.

Well, next week I'll need to arrive at Terminal C LGA at 9am. No one knows how the traffic will be? This flight is unusual as I'm often on a flight leaving no later than 8am.

Probably too late for Analise, but I had no problems going from the UES to LGA earlier this week, around 9:30 or so. It took about 25 minutes. My return trip was not so quick, but that was just usual miserable late afternoon traffic.

Maybe help someone -
Tuesday & Wednesday last two weeks- LGA at 4:30am & 5:15am - no problems or issues on highway or airport access.
Wednesday PM - after 10pm - Terminal B had minor traffic congestion. Walked to Terminal (as parked in front of Marriott) and no issues at Terminal C.
The taxi queue was quite lengthy even though a ton of cabs.

I would strongly discourage taking a cab from LGA as the congestion to exit might balloon your fare another $5 before you leave the airport.

Thursday mid-morning departure update:

No traffic coming from the Whitestone bridge. Airport roads clear. They did open a new exit (shortcut) just prior to 94th street. Saves a minute or two, and no reason to go to 94th street, unless you're street parking. This trip, I got a closer spot than last time.

Monday 6:30pm AA arrival. No airport road congestion. Typical late rush hour traffic.

Just came into Terminal B (ex-Central) at 11:30 p.m. The relocated taxi queue was annoying not well-signed, but it's nicely located for the quick exit. There was no traffic anywhere late on Sunday night, so I was in Manhattan about 45 minutes after arriving.

Longing for the good old days where I could leave my UWS apartment in a black car at 5:30am and still make the 6am shuttle from the Marine Air Terminal.
