JFK TWA Terminal 5 Last Look?

Just saw this on Yahoo! News - http://news.yahoo.com/back-future-la...3--sector.html There will be one last open house this Sunday for the old TWA terminal at JFK before it is renovated into a hotel.

How does one get in on this? Can you just show up?

As this topic pertains to a specific airport/city, we'll move this to the NYC destination forum for further discussion. Thanks. /JY1024, TravelBuzz co-moderator

It was yesterday, not next Sunday. Yes, you just showed up to visit but you've already missed it.

I have some photos and a short timelapse video I shot of the TWA Flight Center Open House event on my blog.

I had been looking for that for a while, then forgot about it. I never got a chance to go in there, and now I fear what they will do to it.

The good news is that the main building is a protected landmark so not too much can be done to change it. At least in theory.

I was there Sunday. What a fantastic place! Clearly popular too, as there was quite a crowd. It's not hard to envision an incredible hotel lobby, just hard to imagine where they would put any 400+ rooms.
