NYCers - Dentist recommendation please

Looking for a new dentist in the city.
Was previously going to one in Long Island, but its a pain going on such a long trek.

Can someone recommend a dentist/location/why you like them

If you don't want to post sensitive information, PM would be awesome also.

Thanks!

Anywhere in NYC? Manhattan only? Queens OK? Will you be traveling by car or public transportation?

Manhattan only please.
Midtown east would be awesome, but I'm willing to travel anywhere in the city.

I will be traveling by foot/bus/subway in the city.

Thank you

Here's a link to Dr. Amy David's yelp page. Her great reviews are accurate.

I go to and love Tommy Behm, Midtown East/lower UES.

Can tell him Steven sent you if you go. (That may or may not tell him anything!)

ETA: Check if he takes your insurance - if not, he ain't cheap.

Dr. Martin Schwartz

200 East 24th Street
(Third Avenue)
New York, NY 10010
(212) 679-0808

have been going to him for 15 years now. he's a very intelligent, thoughtful, caring dentist. smart and funny guy too. they have accommodated all my insurance changes (even when it was a new one they'd never heard of) over the years. the person who answers the phone is "Nina" and has been with him since I've been going to him. I have referred all my friends to him and everyone who becomes a patient is grateful. GO!

Every dentist I've ever visited has a website that clearly lays out what dental insurance they take - may be faster.

Not so much with the insurance, though they will give you the paperwork to file so you can claim it after the fact.
