they would beable to Reduce the tolls instead of increasing them if they only, Retroactively starting 9/1 redo All the pension payouts to be 2/3 of the avg of the employees last 3 yrs BASE SALARY.

what happens is these guys make say $45k a yr and their last 3 yrs with overtime, night shift, holidays etc etc end up well into the 6 figures and their pension is 2/3 avg of those 3 yrs . So if they made say $450k their last 3 yrs their pension is $150 a yr

Seniority should give them 1st licks at the overtime etc (actually if they gave out some $30M in overtime last yr why not simply hire more workers at base and give alot of people who dont have a job a job instead).

The Unions are Worse then those in Congress

The tolls have gotten out of hand, both PA crossings and MTA crossings.

I'd be surprised if PATH goes up to $2.75 and becomes more expensive than the subway. I don't remember it ever costing more

Congress is just puppets for the Unions.

You're right on both accords.
My parent's neighbor was NYFD and down the block are 3 NYNJPA cops. The NYFD was the highest paid NYFD agent. took in 460k a year for 4 years after 9/11 to max out his pension. Smart on his action....scum bag on his action. He worked more OT in a month than he was scheduled for.

Christie and Cuomo have agreed on a deal. Cash tolls will rise to $12 next month and $15 by 2015. EZPass tolls will rise to 7/50/9.50 off-peak/peak and increase by 75 cents a year. PATH tolls to $2.00 next month and then 25 cents per year.

"Both governors are also demanding an overhaul of how the bloated agency does business -- including a full audit of its books. 'The reports of cost overruns, excessive overtime, and exorbitant spending must stop immediately,' the governors said in a joint letter announcing the hikes."

Well, the 50% increase will nab those who choose to pay cash instead of using EZ Pass. EZ Pass increase during "offpeak" is 25% to $7.50.

For those who travel with three or more (human) passengers in the car and enroll in the free E-Z Pass carpool plan for PANYNJ crossings, there will still be significant savings. From the PA's press release:

"Carpool Plan - Class 1 or 11 vehicles with three or more people: E-ZPass® off-peak toll shall be $3.50 effective September 18, 2011; $4.25 effective the first Sunday in December, 2012; $5.00 effective the first Sunday in December, 2013; $5.75 effective the first Sunday in December, 2014; and $6.50 effective the first Sunday in December, 2015; and the E-ZPass® peak toll shall be $3.50 effective September 18, 2011; $4.25 effective the first Sunday in December, 2012; $5.00 effective the first Sunday in December, 2013; $5.75 effective the first Sunday in December, 2014; and $6.50 effective the first Sunday in December, 2015."

Yep.

Another revenue booster, that hasn't been mentioned as much that will hit EZPass customers is the change to peak times.

Monday through Friday, peak times will change from 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (one hour later).

Saturday and Sunday, peak times will change from 12:00 PM (noon) - 8:00 PM to 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM (one hour earlier and later).

So those used to getting a bigger discount by going right after the peak hour ends, beware!

Done, as well as the change in peak hours noted by andyli

Also noticed in the official press release that, while cash tolls are always supposed to be rounded up to the nearest dollar, the actual list for cars (Class 1 vehicles) indicates that they are rounding up or down:

2011: $12.00 ($12.00)
2012: $13.00 ($12.75)
2013: $13.00 ($13.50)
2014: $14.00 ($14.25)
2015: $15.00 ($15.00)

http://www.panynj.gov/press-room/pre...adLine_id=1445

Increased tolls effective Sunday, September 19, 2011. Subsequent increases will occur on the first Sunday in December, 2012–2015.

At least on the weekends or evenings, just find street parking in Jersey City and take the PATH. Who needs that crap?

first, you people don't want "subsidies" out of the general public, now you don't want "pay as you go".
