Connection in BOS

I'm flying AS into BOS, which looks like it goes into term B, and connecting to DL, out of A.

Does anyone know if I have to exit security to get from B to A. I looked at the Massport map and I can't really tell. I only have 40 min connect time, so this might be a problem.

Thanks

Yes you do have to exit security to get from B to A, unfortunately. 40 minutes might be a bit tight, depending on the security lines at A.

If your inbound flight is on time, you'll have plenty of time for the transfer. If your arrival into BOS is late, all bets are off.

Do NOT take the bus to get from Terminal B to Terminal A. Walking is faster.

walk (run?) from B to A. delta's gates are mostly past a big long underpass in terminal A.

Is this on one PNR? Where is your destination? I have had good luck with DL to put me on a later flight with such connection times ... call and inquire, as a ST E+ they should at least try to help you. I would not risk a 40 minute connection from B to A w/o at least a back-up plan.

Walk or Run

As said already, if you flight is on time and you've already got your Delta boarding pass, you might make it. If your trying to check in at the Delta kiosk and beat the 30 minute cutoff, you'll have to be quick and lucky.

Between walking and taking the bus, I'd walk. The bus will make a second stop at terminal B, then C, and E before it gets back to terminal A, and it only passes about every 5 - 10 minutes. Your timing would have to be perfect. If you walk, exit terminal B on the upper level, turn left and follow the sidewalk to A. From the AS gate, I think I could run it in 5 minutes without bags.

I'm not sure if it's possible to walk on the outside sidewalk to Term A like it used to be in the old days. Now, you exit Term B, go left, and almost immediately enter a structure on your left in which you'll find an escalator and signs directing you to Central Parking. Go up the escalator, across the skywalk at the top, but when the skywalk turns to the right towards Central Parking, turn left, where you will find the escalator to take you back down to Term A. (It's much easier than it sounds. You won't get lost.)

Thanks all. This is one PNR, an award flight using NW miles, SEA to MCO. For 25,000 mi I can get upfront on AS and DL, with the BOS connection. Or I can take most any flight on NW and sit in the back. I am connecting to a ns to MCO, so if I miss, I'll have many options thru ATL. AS arrives at 6:40am and DL departs at 7:20am, tight, but I'll be off quickly and plan to have my DL bp via olci from home.

I need to connect from a USAirways Shuttle flight from LGA to a UA flight. Of course, US uses Terminal B and UA Terminal C.

In looking at the USAirways map (http://www.usairways.com/common/reso...minal_full.jpg) it looks like there is an airside bus that will allow me to connect from Gate 9B in Terminal B to Gate 19A in Terminal C. Can anyone please confirm this is the best way to get from B to C?

FWIW, I have a three hour layover so having to walk and re-clear security wouldn't kill me.

Thanks!

With three hours I would just bite the bullet and walk. It's a relatively pleasant and painless procedure. Terminal C is rather sparse, so you could spend your time in another part of the airport (maybe some chowder at Legal's) before making your way over to your UA gate.

Just to clarify, Terminal C inside of security is sparse. Outside of security at Terminal C there are some dining and shopping options, including a Legal Seafoods.

One other option I'll throw out there to spend your three hours, depending on what time of day we're talking, is to hit one of the good restaurants in East Boston, the neighborhood adjacent to the airport. Santarpio's offers some of Boston's best pizza, and Angela's Cafe offers some of Boston's best Mexican food. There also are good Italian and Peruvian options, all within walking distance or a short cab ride away.

Thanks. I thought I'd also check out the US Club in B if they'll let me in before heading over to the RCC. I'm sure the walk wouldn't kill me.

There is also a legal seafoods airside in Terminal B, so could have something to eat in B and than take shuttle over to C. I would take the shuttle if you have luggage, otherwise walking will be a good workout. Your not in a hurry so either option will work. Another great thing to do if you exit security is to go to the top of the central parking and look at the skyline across to Boston. Take a photo or two from the top level.

Cheers.

Unfortunately, the airside interterminal bus was discontinued some time ago.

You'll want to go landside and either:

staying on departures level, walk through the garage to AA departures
and then turn left, eventually finding United (10 vigorous minutes); or

catch the Massport shuttle bus #11, 55, 66, or 88 downstairs at the
arrivals level (just a couple minutes, not counting waiting time).
