Cape Cod Recommendations
 

I'll be there the first week in November. Any particular area's or section of the cape, to hit up for a day of sightseeing? Any good local restaurants? I assume since it's off season that driving to Provincetown will be a waste of time?

I am actually from the Cape, though since I haven't been back in 10 years, I'm not up to speed on current good restaurants. Fall is actually my favorite season there; after the tourists clear out, it is very easy to get around, even to Ptown. I would stay in Hyannis myself because it has the most going on, but my mom prefers to be a little further out (e.g. Dennis).

Which region of the cape do you recommend for a day of sightseeing? Is Provincetown worth the drive?

Are you interested in biking by any chance? If so, Brewster to Provincetown is a nice ride. When you get back to Brewster, you could have dinner at chillingsworth (I assume it still exists). Sandy Neck is also kind of cool (sand dunes). And, how about Osterville?

I will ask my mom for other tips next time I talk with her. She has lived on the Cape for 45 years, and knows the lay of the land.

It still exists! I normally don't think of the Cape as a place for gourmet food because I like seafood, but Chillingsworth is pretty solid on all fronts. My uncle actually worked there in the 60s as a waiter, and I attribute his excellent cooking skills to this experience.

This might seem like an odd recommendation, but the Tiki Port was my original motivation to learn Chinese when I was 5 years old. I simply loved the decor, the food, and the staff.

Most of these restaurants serve similar fare, so I would focus on ones that are conveniently located.

I think I'll check out the Upper & Mid Cape sections and then choose one of the local restaurants you recommended on your last post.
