Anyone else get diverted last night (14 Sept)?

My DL flight from RDU was in initial descent into Boston when the microbursts hit. We circled for 30 minutes, but because we were in an RJ900, we had to divert to MHT to take on 7k gallons of fuel.

Good news is that they let passengers disembark. Bad news is that since I was travelling back from TPA (helping my Dad thru Irma), I had checked a bag (filled with 3 weeks of grungy clothes, in case we had to dig him out)...which they would not let us retrieve. Shared an Uber with a fellow passenger, arrived home about 90 minutes late. Bag status TBD...waiting on the DL platinum line for an hour last night, they could not get thru to baggage.

Understand the plane sat on the runway at MHT for 30-60 minutes, circled around for awhile, and landed about 2.5 hours later than originally planned arrival.

What a mess. At least the lightning was entertaining.

PS...if anyone has the direct telephone # for DL Baggage in BOS, I would be very grateful.

Actually, the Platinum Desk had the Boston DL lost and found number. 617 568 0885. The answering machine (voicemail prompt?) said this was the BOS DL baggage claim office. Left a message, hopefully they will call back. Can't file a claim as the baggage claim rep in MHT kept my claim ticket (or somehow I lost in in my desire to flee).

Fingers crossed and hope this info is helpful to others in the future.

PS...only Diamonds have dedicated bag service line. Who knew?

Wouldn't your Delta app have the ticket #?

I'm not an expert, but I think that would be 7,000 lbs.

As long as it's not 7000 lbs when you need 7000 kg. (Remember the Gimli Glider?)

Analise, I don't use the app. Apps cull all the information from your phone, to be used by the app provider. I have virtually no apps on my phone.

Good news is that Boston baggage called me back and delivered my bag. Yay Delta!
