Foxwoods without gambling

So next month I have to bring my Father and Aunt to Foxwoods for a show. I won't be going to the show, so I need to find something to keep me entertained for 3 hours while they are in the show. I figure we will get something to eat before the show, so I won't be interested in a fancy meal, and gambling is not my thing. Besides go sit in a bar for 3 hours, which given I don't really drink would be awkward, what else is there to do?

Ah - forgot to add - will be on a Friday night. So, the (rather very good) museum will be closed.

Foxwoods without gambling

I'd try to find a movie theatre in Mystic. Or find a bar at Foxwoods and watch sports.

Lots of shopping in the mall there to keep you occupied laughing at the prices for awhile.

They have a comedy club there, maybe someone appearing that night you might like? Kurt Metzger and Ahmed Ahmed are listed for the first 2 Fridays in December.

You could try the spa if they are open the hours you will be there.

Get a room and take a nap, watch a movie and relax.

For three and a half hours?

I ended up just hanging out and wandering around. Tried gambling, but couldn't figure it out, and got bored real, real fast. People watching turned out to be more interesting than I thought. The place was big enough that a leisurely walk from one end to the other took up over an hour (with a few stops along the way). Dull shops though.

Yeah, that was a weird recommendation!

Ugh. Time to do this again this weekend. It's my Christmas gift to them. Do they have a problem with people taking things like tablets in the casino?

That depends on what's in the tablets. (By "things like tablets" I assume you mean pills, caplets, gelcaps and so on.) Legal over-the-counter or prescription medications are OK. Controlled substances are not, if anyone catches you. I wouldn't risk it.

Actually, I meant like Android or iPads.

On the other hand, I felt like I was at a Grateful Dead concert with all the smell of pot around that place. I have never encountered that much smell of it.

My god I was bored out of my skull.

Maybe next time you give them this gift, pre-arrange (and pre-pay) something like Uber to get them there and back?

60 miles. That would be one heck of a big Uber.

Eh, I suck it up. Just whining about it. It would be one thing if the restaurants and counter service and shops weren't crap.
