Look at Meredith, NH. Nice resort area with a ton of reasonably priced rooms and conference facilities walking distance to reasonably priced restaurants.

We ended up choosing the Red Jacket Resort on Cape Cod: http://redjacketresorts.com/red-jacket-beach-resort.php

Retreat is in two weeks, so I can give more feedback then. However, they are great to work with, we essentially have our own part of the resort to ourselves, and the package is a good mix if prepared events and opportunity to DIY.
