Talking Post Your Favorite Boston Late-Night Hangout Here!

Please post your favorite late-night hangout in Boston in this thread. It would be very helpful if you could include what type of food/drink is available (if applicable) when it closes (if known), the atmosphere (quiet bar, dance club, etc), and the nearest public transportation connection to getting there.

Purple shamrock is fun with a group of people. Dinner and then late at night it's a DJ and dancing, bar, etc.

Purple Shamrock is loud and mostly a post-college fratboy hangout. The Sail Loft is a decent seafood restaurant and bar - it's in the North End.

Bars in Boston (well, any place that serves liquor) close at 2a with last call promptly at 1.30a.

Favorite place used to be called the Last Drop (there is one in Brighton), it is now the Corner Tavern. http://www.thecornerboston.com/

The crowd here tends to be a little older (mid 20's and up) rather than a college age crowd - they are probably across the street at Crossroads. It is small, but open until 2. Upscale sandwiches/wraps/pizza available until midnight. Yelp page: http://www.yelp.com/biz/corner-tavern-boston

Used to go to Crossroads a lot too, but the re-model killled it for me.

Cheers,

Thanks for the heads-up on this. We're new residents of the Back Bay and this place is apparently just down the street from us. I'll have to check it out soon.

My favorite late night spot for a bite to eat is The Other Side in Back Bay
Divey atmosphere, but great food and beer with a kitchen open late
If you order a pitcher of beer you get free chips and salsa freshly made by your server.

Transportation: Hynes Convention Center on Green Line, or the 1 bus

What do you expect from an area build by the Puritans? "Cold tea" at 3AM helps dull the pain.

Curious: Can you still get cold tea at 3am?

Yes you can. Franklin cafe keeps a good kitchen open somewhat late.

Yes, Franklin Cafe is a great late night dining option. But do they serve post-last-call cold tea? It's traditionally been a late night/early morning Chinatown option.

Sorry I meant, Franklin is a place to get solid food and a drink at 1am. For cold tea in the VERY late night, Franklin is not your place.

If you plan to stay at a nightclub after 2:00am, try Rise. It's the only one open past 2:00am, but you won't find any alcohol there..
