Boston Dining Options

I will be in Boston for a week while at a conference. Can anyone recommend some mid-range restaurants where I can entertain clients? Something low-key where they can just unwind after a day of learning. Near the airport would be great, or at least near a subway line.

Do a search. Plenty of threads on this topic. ^

Better yet, do some research on chowhound.com, which, unlike this board, is exclusively chow focused.

The only problem I have with chowhound is that every restaurant on earth has been recommended on there at one point or another. A lot of bozos on chowhound, if you ask me. And way too many people commenting on service. Just because your waiter had a bad night doesn't mean the restaurant sucks.

Kinda like FT, no? In both cases, you need to spend some time getting a sense of who's recommendations you can trust.

As to the OP's inquiry, there just isn't enough to go on to make a recommendation.

True that.

And I agree, I have nothing to offer based on the limited info. I bet he ends up at a Legal's though. ;)

What a depressing, though spot on, prediction!

Al Dente in the Northend is a great low key Italian place. A client took me there once. I go back everytime I am in Boston.

I had two friends that once waited tables at Al Dente. They nor I would recommend this place to anyone. If you are looking for something "low key", I would probably stay away from most places in the North End, as many places there tend to get very loud and attract a lot of tourists. But there are a few exceptions, one mid-range place I might consider would be Marco. It seems to be a bit more "low-key" as a result of its location on the second floor.
