Still there, but greatly scaled back lately, though the past two weeks they have had 2 different classes of SUV's across the country.

@AutoSlash is showing me a standard car is the cheapest available. Does a standard car qualify for aisle access, or do you need to have a midsize or full-size?

I have recently changed jobs and my new company is using Enterprise rather than National that I used to use. I have already set it up to get rewards points/days to my National Account. I loved being able to just go pick whichever car I wanted when using National. Can I still bypass the counter and pick a car from the National Emerald Executive lot even with an Enterprise reservation.

No. Best case scenario, Enterprise will let you pick from several cars parked within your reserved category.

Worst case scenario, you'll have to listen to a 20-something with a buzz cut explain why your credit card insurance is not as good as the LDW they offer at each and every rental.

I've been looking around but haven't found a recent answer to this question. Can I use my free rental credits within Europe?

You can use them. However, many locations do not accept them. Just input your destination and it should tell you if it is available. When I used it last year, rental credits were not available in Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia or Slovenia. They were available to be used in Germany. So, I flew to Munich and then drove to Croatia.

I guess i'm out of luck with Italy then. Thanks for the response.

Do overseas locations will recognize status for car upgrades?

I did get a free upgrade to an Automatic (which I didn't want) Ford Mondeo Wagon.

Depending on where in Italy you are going, you can fly to Munich and drive through Austria, and you're in Italy.

No, and no. You may earn national credits renting from Enterprise but not Alamo. It's in the Emerald Club terms and conditions.
