The Explorer is a Standard SUV. The Tahoe is a Full-Sized SUV and the Durango is a Premium Crossover. It sounds like you need either space or a 7 seater?
I would reserve the Full-Size SUV for better odds because National doesn't guarantee specific models. You could reserve a Standard SUV and the only thing they have when you arrive are Santa Fe's or Equinox's.

delayed, but what I remember from the executive aisle on 7/31 (mostly what I had considered):
- a BUNCH of challengers (at least a half dozen), including a couple of r/t models
- charger
- camaro
- volvo v60
- bmw x3 (what I took; has airplay and a panoramic sunroof, but missing a backup camera/sensor among other things)
- various explorers, minivans, nissans

I have an Alamo LCAR booked for Monday evening 2nd October. Last time I did this there were only 3 LCARs to choose from. If I ask for something from National what's likely to be available? Also, if nothing attracts me what are the chances of a Challenger RT without upcharge?

Managed to snag a White Suburban (PFAR, 2016, 13k, LT/4wd) from ES early (5am) monday morning.
Didn’t really check what else was in ES when I saw this little understated gas gobbler:-)

The lot attendant told me to grab w/e is in EA/ES that one time I reserved SSAR at LAX. I would expect no more than your run of the mill T4/V6 mustang/camaro/challenger. Maybe a RT challenger
