I work on the car industry, so I go to Detroit quite often, last time I went there (sunday, Jan 7, at like 7pm) I recall the following:

- Grand Cherokee which was snapped by the guy who got off the bus right before me.
- Pick you color Camaro, hardtop and convertible.
- Several Dodge Challenger
- Several Mustangs (had a bad experience with a RWD and winter weather last year, so I refrained myself from picking one of these or the two above).
- GMC pick-up
- Several Dodge Journey.
- 2018 Camry
- A couple of Nissan Altima
- Dodge Grand Caravan
- 2 Chrysler 300.
- Ford Escape

None of it convinced me, so I walked around for like 10 min, until they pulled out an Infinity Q50 AWD (just washed!), which I took,

Will be flying there again on Monday, so I'll let you know what I find.

3/29 around 10PM

ES highlights
2X 2018 Camry SE
1X Fusion Titanium AWD Ecoboost
2X Impala Premier
2X Maxima Platinum (several others in SL, SR, SV trim)

Well stocked in advance of holiday weekend but nothing really interesting to choose from. Upgrades up front were all the full size SUVs.

Was here at ~2AM Saturday morning. ES aisles were full. It was like a midsize SUV convention with at least one of each of the following:

Dodge Journey GT (mine)
Ford Edge Titanium (almost took this until I noticed it was 4-cyl, not V6)
Rav4 XLE
VW Atlas
GMC Terrain
Nissan Rogue
Easily a dozen Hyundai? Kia? (didn't look too closely) small SUVs
Ford F150 (base model)
A couple flavors of Chevy pickups
1 lone Ford Fusion (only sedan I saw)

The Dodge Journey was... perfectly adequate. Nothing to get excited about, but it handled pretty well on the terrible Michigan roads. For as packed as the aisle was, though, I was hoping for something more exciting (even a Jeep or 4Runner). I briefly pondered trying to grab a midsize-something from one of the other sections, but there was no staff except in the exit booths and I really just wanted to get home and sleep.

It also seems like there's not that much difference between the EA and ES selection at this location. EA looked like mostly the same cars, maybe just slightly lower trims?

Picked up Saturday June 30th around 9:30am.

Hard to differentiate between Executive and Emerald aisle but what I remember;

Executive
- Lots of trucks,
-Small cities worth of midsize SUV's.
-Handful of sedans

We waiting 10-15mins to see what came out and they parked an Infiniti QX60 near the front and I snagged that for a week rental

Luxury Car in DTW

I have an upcoming reservation in DTW for a luxury reservation. I was wondering what kind of the car I will receive for the luxury class? If anyone here have some insight that will be great. Thanks!

Thursday, 5pm. My usual time of day and week at DTW. More choice than usual. Plenty of sedans, but limited to Fusions or Impalas. The usual selection of Santa Fe's and Journeys. Trucks were actually limited this week, mostly Colorado's. There were a few specials as well. A JK Wrangler, Mini Countryman, and one Challenger.

Pretty standard fare but an Audi Q3, Q5, and old-style Volvo V60 XC made their way to the ES. Also spotted a 2018 Volvo XC60 T5 in the return lanes.

Thursday 9:30PM

ES was well stocked but boring, the most exciting vehicle was a Ford Explorer Limited. Otherwise standard midsize SUV and FCAR fare.

Did see another customer at the exit booth in a 2018 Silverado LTZ crew cab, which I've never seen before. DTW seems to have just gotten in a bunch of the 2019 Silverado "LD" trim, which is basically the 2018 model being built and sold as a MY2019 even though the updated 2019 style is available - same concept as the Impala Classic (but not just restricted to fleet sales). Interesting trim package as it is only available as a V8 with a bench seat inside and includes other features that the Silverados previously ordered in the fleet did not have (leather steering wheel, etc.).

Upgrade area by the front office was only a Suburban, a Volvo XC90, and a Nissan Armada.

I have a more general question re what kinds of SUVs are stocked at DTW. I'll be traveling next month and will be spending a lot of time on the road, so need to make sure I have AWD/4WD. In your experience, would most "premium SUVs" (i.e. Suburbans or Yukon XL) that they stock in DTW have that capability? I understand nothing can be 100% guaranteed, but any insight is appreciated.

Thank you!

Generally yes. Most of the premium suv's would have 4WD with the exception being one with an out of state tag from more of a "sun" state (TX, FL, LA, CA etc)
FWIW I had an XT5 from DTW recently with NV plates and it was AWD so YMMV.
