Premier Selection for young driver?
Just had a one-way rental and was wondering if I could select cars from the Premier Selection with some additional charge. The manager said "No", because I was 24 years old. I didn't find any description of this restriction on their website. Does anyone know if young renters are eligible for the Premier Selection? And is there any additional fee (My university has a contract with National which weives the young renter fee)?

YMMV - depends on who you get. I frequently got PS/Luxury cars from National even though I was under 25. However, I have also been stopped from taking PS/Lux cars as well due to "age restrictions."

My corp code does not have a young renter's fee. Pricing depends on what's posted on the car, but usually negotiable.

AGE - The underage surcharge for drivers between the ages of 18 and 20 is $64.50 per day. The underage surcharge for drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 is $24.50per day. Renters between the ages of 18 and 20 may rent the following vehicle classes: Economy through Intermediatesize. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 may rent the following vehicle classes: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, and Compact, Small and Standard SUVs with seating up to 5 passengers. It's probably dependent on the station/which station manager is on duty that day and who is at the gate. YUL didn't even allow me to take a pickup truck at first due to age, but let me through after checking with enterprise that they indeed rent out pickup trucks to under 25. At LAS I was let through with a BMW 228 on a luxury reservation the first night, however got stopped with a Q5 with luxury reservation on another night. |
