When Does Emerald Executive Status Start Working?
 

I am a National Car Rental Emerald Club member and have 39 rental days so far in 2018 (40 are needed for Executive status). However, I was told by an Emerald Club agent at National that I would not begin enjoying the benefits of Executive status until the next calendar year. I told the agent that this is crazy and doesn't make any sense. So, let me get this straight: I can reach Executive Status in April of 2018 and not be able to use it until January of 2019?? The agent said that is correct. I'm not sure the agent has the story straight, but wanted to check with others who are Emerald Club members to see if she is correct. Has anyone else experienced this and is the agent correct? Thanks

It'll change within 24 hours or so of you returning car number 40. It will be effective the rest of this year, all of next year, and till the end of Feb 2020, if you do not requalify next year,
