EA offerings these days

Any updates? Taking the family skiing over the holidays and hope to get something with AWD or 4x4, like a full-size pickup or an Explorer-size SUV. Thanks in advance.

It was miserable pickings in the EA on 12/17. Lots of Altima's, Chrysleer mini vans and 4x4 trucks. Nothing at all exciting, unusual or attractive. First choice was a Maxima. It had been smoked in and had 45k miles on it. Next one was another Maxima SR, no leather, no nav but at least it had carplay and on 1k miles. Boring as a wet lettuce but it got the job done. I think the EA selection is one of the worst I've seen in the US. Just dull, dull and duller.

That's not surprising. 12/17 was a Tuesday. Most nice cars are being picked up on Sunday or Monday when business travellers arrive. The nice cars return Thu/Fri for weekend renters.

Yep, not my first rodeo, but I'm comparing locations. I still see nicer cars at other locations on Tuesdays....

Executive selection seemed like the only choice available on 2019-12-20 at Seatac late late at night. The normal Emerald Aisle was filled with returns.

Kia Optima FE
Chevy Impala
Chrysler Pacifica
Ford fusion
Dodge Challenger
Nissan Maxima
Subaru Legacy - was going to take this but it smelled of tobacco
Kia Optima
Chevy Silverado
Dodge Grand caravan
Ram 2500
Ram 1500 - took this, no android auto?
Hyundai Sonata 2018
Nissan Sentra
Chevy Malibu
Dodge charger

National / Alamo at 3rd and Stewart on 2019-12-22 afternoon:

Ford escape
Dodge caravan
Toyota Camry
Subaru Impreza sedan
Nissan rogue sport
Ford Edge
Ram 1500
Mitsubishi eclipse cross
Nissan Sentra x2 - took this (old generation 2019)
Toyota Corolla
Mitsubishi mirage hatchback
Kia Rio sedan
Ford fiesta hatchback
Nissano Rogue
kia soul

They didn't have much choice and would only let me choose between the Corolla (originally assigned) and the "old" Sentra... Took the Sentra for Android Auto. Wouldn't let me take the Impreza sedan (probably because of the AWD) without upgrade to midsize, not lenient at all despite EE status.

Also lots of other people without good corp codes paying a lot of money for rentals.

2019-01-05 evening at Sea-Tac National, "Executive Selection" aka "Only Selection" since there wasn't an EA again:

Mitsubishi Outlander x2
Ford Escape
Nissan rogue x3
GMC terrain
Mitsubishi Outlander
Kia Forte
Volkswagen Tiguan
Nissan Altima x4
Toyota Camry
Kia Optima x3
Toyota Sienna
Dodge Caravan x10
Chrysler Pacifica x3

I guess all the minivans are back from their leisure rentals.

2020-07-01 early afternoon

ES was sparse, the selection in EA was better. I'm not sure if they were doing emerald choice, since I had a luxury full-size SUV booked.

ES
Toyota Camry x2
Chevrolet Malibu x7

EA
2019 Sentra x3
Toyota Corolla
Subaru Impreza
Subaru Legacy
Infiniti Q50
Audi Q5
Mazda CX-3 x2
Chrysler Pacifica
Dodge Grand Caravan
Toyota Highlander x2
Mitsubishi RVR
Volkswagen Tiguan

As for luxury full-size SUV, they had Infiniti QX80... the location only has one Lincoln Navigator and it was already out on rental. Unfortunately my QX80 still had garbage in it....

I was there on 7/1 afternoon (4 pm) and none of those were rentable except 3 sedans and a small suv.
I asked, the attendant mentioned that they just split Alamo (i guess they were on the same lot before) and they had nothing but those 4 cars.

Went to hertz and got 4runner from pres circle choice of 20-30 decent cars.

Not sure what happened at national that day..

Oh I see, I didn't know.... I had a luxury full-size SUV on rewards so I just documented whatever was parked and left with the Infiniti QX80 they offered me.

But yeah, the Hertz lot was packed with a lot of nice choices that day!
