- No 1-2-F credit for options on 1-day rental (SXM, etc)
- If applying 1-2-F coupons for a rental, as least one day must be paid in order for a National credit to be gained; but at least two- to get any 1-2-F points for anything associated with that rental!
- On longer rentals , 300 points are earned every 4 days
2018-2019: August 23, 2018 through February 28, 2019 - coupons valid until June 13, 2019
2017-2018: August 24, 2017 through February 28 2018, with 12F coupons valid until June 15 2018
2016-2017: August 25, 2016 through February 28 2017
2015-2016: August 2015 through end January 2016, with 12F coupons valid until June 15th 2016

National doesn’t care. I have never seen a company do an about face so quickly.
In 2 months, they went from extreme customer satisfaction and some of the best service in the industry - to reducing themselves to the likes of Avis.
Literally had a manager tell me yesterday “status means nothing” - wow! So, besides how rude that is; what was the point of the extension?
As an EE, they wanted to charge me for a minivan. That’s right folks - top status had to pay. For a Pacifica.
National doesn’t care, and given their super high prices right now, and complete lack of service - they won’t care about these coupons at all and let them expire.
But I will bite my tongue if their AI bot named Carol comes back and gives us another generic response that works for all the threads the bot responds to, and promises nothing (again). :P

National's primary customer is basically not traveling right now: the business traveler who pays more for a superior, efficient experience. Business travel is all but shut down. National is for all intents and purposes basically on "idle."
Enterprise is a little more "open" between the local business they do with auto repair shop rentals (even if auto damages are way down due to less driving/less traffic) and such.

I used three 1-2-F days on a reservation a few months back. I cancelled the reservation due to C-19 travel restrictions well within the cancellation window. The 1-2-F certs never re-appeared in my customer portal. I emailed National and they said that the certs were returned, but the website is unable to show it. It's on us renters to keep track of which coupons have and have not been used.
It is really feeling like they do not want to help much with anything regarding this One Two Free promotion right now... I understand them not extending the expiration of the certificates (I don't think they can afford to, need that liability off the books ASAP), but not helping with your case is somewhat confusing to me. I wonder if we will get a promotion again this season.

The certificates appear in my portal and say "redeemed on .... date of reservation." Can you backtrack to the date of the reservation to find the code for the certificates that you should be able to re-use?
It is really feeling like they do not want to help much with anything regarding this One Two Free promotion right now... I understand them not extending the expiration of the certificates (I don't think they can afford to, need that liability off the books ASAP), but not helping with your case is somewhat confusing to me. I wonder if we will get a promotion again this season.

A full month later, the coupons are still showing as redeemed and unavailable. The email Customer Care team says the coupons are active but will not be shown as available on the 1-2-F web portal.

Yes, you're correct. I know which coupons were redeemed with the now-cancelled reservation. No major problem, but if National's internal customer care team can see the active coupon, the website should be able to reflect that.

aww3583 I assure you that your coupons are once again available to be redeemed within 10 business days of cancellation. Your coupon codes remain the same and are again available to be added to your next reservation. You know you can just enter the code (shows up in your account, when you are looking at "my coupons earned" after "ID") as a coupon when you are booking a reservation and it works exactly the same? Just copy and paste. Done.

The AI Bot signature was funny; but the exact same copy/pasted language about writing in regarding a contract etc. was used when that wasn't even what my quoted post was talking about...indeed, AI is good at self-learning, but can't help copy/pasting.

Perhaps this is an effort to make it harder for people to redeem these or to make people think they are already redeemed when they aren't?
It will be VERY Interesting to see if they even repeat this promotion this year. They should... but, who knows now.

This is why I never cancel reservations booked with 1 2 free day, I just modify the date on the reservation to some random time in the future. That way I never have to wait for those coupons to get reactivated.
