Unexpected system error on EC site

Unexpected system error on EC site

Trying to make a reservation for LHR with my Emerald account and each time I try to select a car I get the message saying "unexpected system error". Then made a successful reservation without my Emerald number but means a counter visit at LHR (yuck).

Called National and they had no clue, but created yet another reservation, but when I try and view the new reservation I now get another error "unexpected system error (20707) Please try again! First time I've ever had an issue trying to book at LHR - Odd, anyone else seen anything like this?

I did get a reply just now..

Glad it's not just me. I get this error for ANY UK booking. The work around it not to log in, or have [email protected] book it for you. The twitter folks say there are technical issues that are being fixed... stay tuned.

I'm still getting the run-around, this is the latest response:

"Since LHR is an International rental, your Emerald Club number will not be able to be attached to your reservation. The Emerald Club counter and aisles benefits are only located in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico"

While there isn't an Emerald isle at LHR, there's a nice Emerald office where I'm always helped (at least the last 7 times!). Oh well, I'll find out Sunday!

The problem now appears to be fixed - for me at YVR at least. Give it a try.

Picked up my car at LHR and all was good! Did get a really hard sell on their insurance coverage which I've never had before at any National, and it took a firm no to end it.

I had this problem a few days ago but then when I went to make an actual booking at YYJ last Saturday it worked again. I also sent an e-mail and got the "we're looking into it" response.
