Which FFP to maximize? AS AA or CO?
Long story short, will be taking advantage of various miles earning opportunities including flights over the next year.
Just by the various cc's, bank account, and other programs I will have a bucketload of miles on Alaska, American, and Continental. By July 2010 I should have ~ -- AS miles = ~ 65000, 35000 flight miles AA miles = ~ 75000, 0 flight miles CO miles = ~ 75000, 0 flight miles SPG points ~ 110000 points Given all that, and that I'm out of SEA, and that I want to go to again to Hawaii, Europe or Australia. Anyone have an opinion of what FFP of the three I should maximize for awards? JTB |

Credit AS into AA.

If you credit the 35,000 AS flight miles to AA, and then convert 65,000 SPG points to AA (3 lots of 20,000 which gives you a 5,000 mile bonus each time, and then an additional 5,000), you'll end up with 190,000 AA miles. That's enough for a business class Oneworld round the world aware on AA (http://www.aa.com/aa/pubcontent/en_U...orld.jsp#using - Zone 8) which could get you to Hawaii, Australia and Europe all in one trip...
You'd need 220,000 on Continental (http://www.continental.com/web/en-US.../chart_17.aspx) and I'm not sure AS offers a round the world award. |

EDIT: Just saw that maybe you've already flown your AS flights, in which case you won't be able to transfer already earned AS miles to AA. BUT if you transfer 100,000 SPG points to AA, with the 5,000 bonus on each 20,000 transferred, you'd end up with 125,000. Together with your existing 75,000 AA points, that should give you enough for a J RTW award. |

You can only transfer 94999 miles or so to AA at one time So you can only transfer 79999 + 15k bonus So transfer 60k +15 and then 40k +10 on 2 different days Tricky stuff |
Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9000/4.6.0.167 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
Keep in AS... With 35K flown on AS in 1 year, you are only 5k EQM's away from MVPG status... Which gives you access to free upgrades for youself and a companion- heck, its been (and is) pretty cheap ex-SEA to Hawaii... Depending on the day/destination good odds... AS also partners with many Skyteam and Oneworld partners for awards and earning  |
