Need 8k miles to get 1P - Help
Can someone help, I need 8k miles in the next two months, looking to do it over a single weekend if possible in Aug or early Sept. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to achieve this. I have an international trip in later in the year that my United 1P would be very helpful in.:)

Not really mileage run material and I suspect it will shortly be relocated to the proper forum. But it may help if you tell us where you're based out of - just in case it's not actually IAD per your name.

Hi iadflyer,
This forum is for the discussion of specific Mileage Run Deals which have been shared in the MR forum, rather than for discussing prospective mileage runs. I'm moving this to MilesBuzz for the moment, in case you can find some UA FTers with favourite MRs ex-IAD. As a longshot, there is a CO MR LGA-IAH-SFO $228ai rt in MR Deals, pending a UA match and if you can get a fare to LGA. Cheers, BiziBB, Moderator, Mileage Run forums |
There's a $220 roundtrip from BWI to SEA that you can route through SFO for about 6200 miles.

Looks like UA only matched for 8hrs (then dropped) the fare from AA/VX I mentioned above, including the AA/VX IAD-SFO option for the same price as LGA-IAD-SFO.
It might be worth trying again in case UA re-matches. :) |
Check the UA FAQ and Wiki - there's a Chase Visa card that comes with up to 15k EQM - and I think 5k of those are sign-up bonus.
It's not a cheap card - it's $140 - but it'll save you a good part of a weekend, and that's worth a lot more than $140. Of course, that Seatte fare for $220 is very good - and this is the perfect time of year to spend a couple days out there. If you can get that fare, I'd do it whether you need all those miles or not! ^ |
There is an entire thread dedicated to help...
