Member vs. Junior Member

Here is one thats been bugging me. All my life I have been a Junior. My father past away (God bless his soul) and I am no longer considered a Junior. However, now here on this, this, this, "BB" I am once again a "Junior". What do I need to do to get away from this stigma?

It's just like being a "freshman"- High Shcool Freshman, College Freshman, Life Freshman, Married Life Freshman- You just CAN'T get away! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

You can achieve the elite Member status by making 30 (I believe) posts. (Someone else will speak up if I have the number wrong http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )

You need to make 14 more posts, jamflyer... 30 is the magic number for becoming a full-blown member.
(Just don't look at Rudi's total...)

While the "junior member" tag may be annoying, perhaps it inspires "older" members to be kind to the newbies? I didn't like being a junior member either...

Thanks for the response. I figured there was some kind of posting quota. While I usually read the board, I do not post as often as I should. I guess it would be worth it get rid of the "junior" tag. I think I have about 10 posts to go.

If you click on your "info" button it will show you that you currently have 17 posts to your credit... time to start the countdown!

jamflyer, if you are real good you can accomplish "elite" status (there is nothing higher than "member"), in about a minute. Just find a little or non-used thread and do the remainder of the posts required in rapid succession. "I hate it when there are psychological barriers in place!"

Maybe we need a "kindergarten Member" for those who surf but don't post. I'm sure the FF folks could identify them.

I would rather call the non-posters but looking "voyeur" - but I don't mind them at all.

The "junior" appendix, in my opinion is very democratic (every one has been junior on this board for his/her first 30 postings) - and in add, at least for me, if I respond to a junior-posting I try to give more basic-background informations. In my opinion the "junior"-appendix is helpful.

I just noticed that now I'm a member not jr member after my last posting in Sherwood group...

jamflyer Apr 13, 1999 2:51 pm

I have finally made my 30th post. I guess I am now a Member.

Ok your a member....but you're not in the clique http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

philforest Apr 13, 1999 3:02 pm

What's a "clique?"

NJDavid Apr 13, 1999 3:05 pm

Ow! Ow! It's a joke! Stop hitting me!

Catman Apr 13, 1999 3:19 pm

Congrats Jamflyer for becoming a member of the greatest board on the web! We look forward to your continued contributions!

A couple of "membership" matters:

1. It has come to our attention that your name could conjure up (in an extremely small number of members) visions of flying processed fruit products. This could possibly be quite deleterious mentally to such members. In order to continue your membership, we require that you give us a detailed justification for choosing such a handle. We may require you to fax.... Er -- never mind! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

2. Make sure you have paid your membership dues. Checks made payable to The Onefreeman Retirement Trust.... Er never mind! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Sorry folks -- just another day waiting for party a to talk to party c so party b (me) can get paid!
