Marriott Visa A link is: http://www.marriottrewards.com/visa/

I believe the annual fee is $25 for the
Gold Visa and it was waived for the 1st
year (but that might have been last
Fall's promotion).

They had a lot of problems from October till
March in creditting points but they finally
got the software upgrades done (I assume)
and my points have been updated (i.e.
3 points for every $ spent at a Marriott
1 point for other charges)

I just got the solicitation for the Capital One card--it looks interesting, basically an "up to 2% rebate" card. Hammertoad is right-it was 18,000 miles for a timezone ticket valued up to $360, 25k/$500, etc. Interesting twist is that it also offered international trips and also in premium classes under relatively the same structure. It did say that you could pay the difference if you wanted to fly on a more expensive trip. One thing I noted internationally was that you had to use a US airline (???)--may have meant that you had to use an airline that they could sell from the US--i.e. not Cubana or Koryo Air.

For my money (but also because I'm in PHL, a captive US Air market), the best deal is still the NationsBank Platinum Visa, which gives 1.2 miles per dollar. Yes, the fee is steep ($125), but for that you get .2 miles times every dollar you charge. If you put lots of personal and business on it, as we do, the extra .2 miles gets you a large percentage of a FF ticket. That's well worth the extra fee. IMHO.
