Do you still gain miles w/ a "buddy pass?"
If u fly w/ buddy passes, do u still get ur miles? I tried to search for this but I came up w/ nothing. How valuable r these pass'? I presume that their best only for leisure travel as well as internat'l travel. Will the ticket be solely n ur name/will the employee's name be on there as well;i.e.:F&F hotel rate. If this is n the wrong place, pls forgive me.

considering the "cost" of the pass, do you really think you should be earning miles too ? just a question. |

UM! DON'T KNOW! That's why I asked. Stranger things have happened. I'm a newbie w/ no clue so I asked, mainly n part b/c a buddy of my cousin works for one of the airlines & when I asked him this he said that u still receive ur miles but ur just on stand-by. This is also the reason I asked about who's name appears on the ticket.
what airline does your cousin's buddy work for ? |

You don't get the miles unless you actually purchase a ticket. The companion passes aren't considered purchased tickets.

Thank u very much! When u say "other airlines might be different," what does that mean? It sounds self-explainatory but I want to make sure my guess is near correct.

Airlines do not give miles for Non-revenue travel............

Thank U. That's all I wanted to know. I felt the same but being that the guy works for an airline, I figured maybe he knew something that I definitely DID NOT KNOW!

The passes will only be in your name but are electronically tied to your buddy pass issuers account. On DL your buddy passes do not have access to airline employee rates unless traveling with the employee but other airlines might be different.
