apologies for my previous post

To All FT members,

Regarding my previous post which I will not restate or link to...
I would like to just express that my intentions were truly not malice. I put a lock on that thread in my forums because I did not want any lurkers to read the thread and kill the deal. I only wanted people that were actually truly interested in pursuing the deal to view it. I am not scamming flyertalk and it was not my intention to spam the site either but I now realize that my post may be construed as spam. I am truly sorry if this caused any type of worries on the forum and will use better judgement in the future. I will cooperate fully to make sure that all worries are sorted out clearly.

My sincerest apologies

Thanks, simon. I apologize that your first posts to flyertalk were so traumatic, but there were just a few too many red flags on your posts to not quickly move.

We didn't have an email address on you here, and didn't realize until later that we could have emailed you at your website's registered address.

At any rate, I'd like to extend a proper welcome to FlyerTalk and hope you'll still be willing to join us after reading through our guidelines and rules. Note that it was the fierce protection of our users' privacy as noted there that led us to act, so I hope you'll take nothing personal from it.

Feel free to email us with any questions or comments. Moderator emails can be found in the upper-left-hand corner of the topic list pages of each forum. We're here to help.

I hope I am not being dense here, but I am still confused.

What is the URL of simondapooh's original post? There is no "finance forum" on littlewebjobs, and the registration I thought I set up doesn't work on their forums. Googling turns up nothing. I got a registration email from littlewebjobs.com, but there's nothing there.

Was the original an effort to harvest user names and passwords, or not? Does the original still exist, and if so, where? If it wasn't harvesting user names/passwords, what was the violation of FT policy?

I guess my question is, should people who registered be concerned? If not, where is the original site?

simondapooh Feb 6, 2004 3:27 pm

it is definitely not to harvest emails and/or passwords. I didn't post the site to prevent further attention to it. I will message you the url (edit: can't sorry, there is no contact info to contact you by) to the finance forum on the site. I repeat there was no intention of harvesting passwords and/or emails at all. it was simply a link to a post that offered a potentially good way to earn miles.

Anyone who registers anywhere else using their flyertalk password should change their flyertalk password (and email password if it was the same also). This is simply good security practice to never use the same password on multiple sites.

There is no reason to continue to single out this member in public.

I found this in whois.com. simondapooh and
are LITTLEWEBJOBS.COM
are mentioned there.

I have not read the first posting and don't no what to think about all this. Did simondapooh ask to got to his webpage and give username & password?

I am not singling anyone out, I am just trying to figure out what happened. Yes, I registered after simondapooh's original post and looked at the message board, but I am not worried about that, I believe I take sufficient precautions. But no, I did not write down the original URL and can no longer find it.

What I am puzzled about is, littlewebjobs.com has no finance forum. I am only trying to figure out the original URL, and what the deal is. And so far, I am only getting more and more confused.

If this was inappropriate and/or a scam of some sort, would someone please explain what the heck it was?

ziobacio Feb 6, 2004 7:47 pm

Simondapooh, I have changed my profile, and there is now an email address visible that you can use to send me the URL. Thanks.

It is honorable for simondapooh to do this.

At this point there is no reason to keep this thread open as it resolves an old issue, and it is kind of OT for MilesBuzz.
