Selling/Swapping Miles

I have 105 000 KLM Flying Blue miles due to expire in May. Can I sell or swap them for miles in another sceme? If so, would it actually be an award rather than the miles itself that were sold or swapped? How do I go about it?

I know it's against the rules but I have nothing to lose. The changes to the Flying Blue program make it very unattractive and they are IMO a lousy airline anyway and I don't see myself using them much in the future.

personally I'd arrange to book a trip for family or close friends and come to some other sort of agreement.

First: the best info you get on the Flying Blue Forum itself.

But, shortly: there is no way to transfer miles from Flying Blue to anybody else (only exception: when moving to the US it is possible to send them to WorldPerks, but I'm not sure for how long). So it is not possible to send them to other programs, and not to other people.

You can book an award 10 months in advance. But be careful: changing this award can result in returning the miles - and losing them forever.

And you can give them to charity...
Selling the awards is an option - but not according to the T&C, so

You say you have nothing to lose, which suggests you're willing to try a "sale" or other exchange in contravention to the program rules. It may well be that you have nothing to lose, but is not the case for your trading partner, who would presumably use your miles for travel, and faces (perhaps unknowingly, depending on how you represent the trade to them) the possibility of denied boarding on the return flight and the necessity of buying a last-minute full fare return flight.

I can't argue with that, and if the roles were reversed I would be cautious. From my own perspective, I'm going to lose the miles anyway. As for the program rules, they suck big time, particularly KLM who seem to have retrospectively changed the rules at ridiculously short notice. I would feel very guilty if I traded my miles to somebody who then could not use them, but as for KLM they have shafted me far worse than what I'm proposing doing to them.
