Hi all
Where can I find a mileage calculator for Mileage Plus? I just need something that will give me the base mileage earned, I can figure out the class of service bonuses etc.

If you have the United Connection PC software you can use the mileage calculator to find the MP miles.

It only does mileage of direct flights ( i.e. you have to do each segment of a trip individually)

There are probably other ways of getting the mileage for UA however I am not aware of any myself.

Use the United Worldwide timetable. Find a flight # for the two points you are interested in, look in the back of the book for the flight # and you will get routing, aircraft type, miles and flying time.

That's a good "estimate" (the mileage in the back of the United book) but I've found that it doesn't always match the mileage Mileage Plus gives you.

A while back I wrote UA about the "discrepency" and they replied that the Mileage Plus credit is figured on actual flight miles, while the reservation/timetable system works on miles charged for the flight.

You can also get an idea of mileage from the Easysabre web site. Go under option 10 (other info) and choose the mileage calculator option. Granted, the mileage given is for AA flights, but if the destinations are served by AA and UA, you should be able to come pretty close.

Or just download the United Connection software and use the Mileage Calculator from the Tools menu. On the downside, it doesn't seem to work for many international destinations. Really bothersome especially when you're trying to calculate RTW miles http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

In the end I just used United Connection on the web. It gives distances when you make a fare enquiry.
