help transfering miles

I have 12K, my husband has 10K in American Airlines
I have 35K, my husband has 18K in Delta
I would like to get them all into one airline so we would have enough to do something with. Is there anyway to do this. I did list mine with Points.com, but the site won't let me list my husbands with the same email address. Rediculous. Anyone, please, what can or should I do..

Question? why would Delta or American, competing airlines with no partnerships, allow consolidation of miles from the other carrier?

In general, cant be done, without a loss of miles or a high transfer cost

1) you can do transfers with points.com, but expect to lose 80% to 90% in the trade

2) you can use the transfer and gift options of the ff web sites but expect to pay a least $0.01 per mile plus a $25 or $35 transfer fee, and those only allow transfer within the same airline, not across airlines

3) you can open up another points.com acct with another email adderss lined to your husband's accts

what to do

1) aa or delta credit cards will get you a 5k to 25k bonus to raise your acct balances to usable levels

2) shopping - each of those airlines operate shopping malls, do your christmas shopping from there and you will earn between 1 and 10 miles per dollar spent

3) idine

4) rental cars

5) hotel stays

6) erewards

7) flights

Welcome to FT!

You are posting in the incorrect forum, as your question has nothing to do with mileage runs.

The information posted by jessej is correct. It's not ridiculous for airlines to not accept miles earned on another airline! It would be like trying to use a GAP giftcard at Starbucks. They have nothing to do with each other.

I agree that by using points.com you will waste many miles and it's not worth it. What should you do? Take jessej's suggestions and start building up miles in your accounts in other ways than actually flying. If you can't do that, donate them to charity, buy magazine subscriptions, etc.; each airline's webpage will have information how you can do this.
