Worthwhile cause for donated FF miles

LBEH.org is a non-profit organization that helps service men and women get home for the holidays. They accept donations of miles and/or cash. As you might expect, they're having a particularly difficult year - more requests than usual, higher ticket prices, and fewer donations.

I'm not affiliated - just wanted to bring them to the attention of the FT community.

Which services do these men and women provide?

"Service men and women" = members of the US Armed Forces. LBEH focuses on those serving overseas - the Dept of Defense does not cover the full cost of their travel if they're granted home leave.

I donated a few years ago to a similar org. called HeroMiles.org , which was founded by a Congressman from Maryland to pressure Congress to authorize Uncle Sam to buy tickets for GIs on leave. Congress voted for it, so now Hero Miles uses the donations to fly military family members to hospitals where their GIs are being treated.

Please note that charitable solicitations on FlyerTalk are subject to the T&C found here.

In short, you're not allowed to solicit for or plug charities unless they are approved. I have no reason to believe that these charities wouldn't be approved, but you really should go through the process before additional discussions/solicitations.
