Miles for Satellite TV

Does anyone know of any promotions to get frequent flyer miles for signing up for satellite TV?

Thanks.

I don't know about satellite TV, but with Time Warner Cable, I pay my monthly cable bill with my AAdvantage credit card using using a touchtone phone. With my cable internet/HDTV/digital package TV, it's about $120 a month (or 1,440 miles per year). Not much individually, but when you try to pay other bills this way (like your cell phone) it does add up.

Dish Network actually encourages you to get the miles by putting your bill on Credit Card Autopay. That's one of their comments about the option.

Autopay Credit Card on DirectTV.

BTW: I think DirectTV is much better than Dish and I'd recomment getting the Hughes HDVR2 "DirecTivo" Unit. Fully integrated satellite and Tivo with 2 tuners. Watch one, record one or record 2 and watch a recorded show.

We have had the DirecTivo for almost two years and really can't imagine watching TV without them.

Dish Network has a DVR as well and I heard that their DVR will probably be the first to record HDTV.

I use my AAdvantage debit card, but don't sign up for autopay because there have been strange billing errors in the past. Just have to remember to click on the site every month.

I've seen the Dish Network DVR in action, and (at least as of about 9 months ago, the last time I got a chance to use it), it's PITIFUL compared to TiVo. No season passes, no wishlists by keyword (you had to search from scratch every time), and that means certainly no autorecord by keywords, no way to see how much time is remaining in a program you're watching and VERY crude FF/rewind controls, and if you happen to hit Stop while a show is recording (and you're watching it while recording), WITHOUT WARNING (or even an alert right afterwards) it cancels the recording. Yuch, even if Dish's DVR were free, I would want to pay extra myself for using a TiVo with it if I could, the Dish DVR seems that useless to me (after being spoiled by a TiVo for a couple years).
