What does anyone here know about Airhitch? Does anyone have any experience dealing with this team of volunteers? Is it more than unsold airline tickets and budget fares around Europe on Ryanair? Any information and Comments would be appreciated.

I have never heard of them, but a quick search on Google came up with some things that would worry me. Just search on Google and go to page two (page one seems to be nothing but links to their site).

Since Airhitch seems to be a cheap(?) travel model -- and not "the latest frequent flyer program buzz" -- I'm going to move this thread to TravelBuzz.

(Of course, if it turns out that Airhitch offers mileage earning tickets... which I'm guessing not.. then I'm open to being corrected in my decision. Feel free to email me at the address in my profile.)
