FF Miles Insurance

I have about 300,000 FF miles spread between NW,CO and Delta. I have heard that you can buy insurance to protect your miles should an airline go bankrupt. First is there such a thing as FF mile insurance? Secondly would I have to buy 3 policies, one for each account or can I get one policy to cover all three accounts?
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't belong in FT Community but here is the link to the product you mean, they are provided by the company behind FT and are regarded to be of good quality:

As ScottC observes, this really isn't a "community" post... but as I understand it, joining AwardGuard covers all of your accounts under one membership, and there are also discounts for covering additional family members as well.

I think this topic is more suited in the MilesBuzz forum. Please continue the discussion there.
