Keeping track of all those points...
Hey FTers -
I've been on a recent trip involving stupid amounts of different hotels and whatnot (thanks to expedia.ca's great rates), and I've now gone from 3 FF programs to about 12. I'm wondering what software / online services you use to keep track of all your point programs and the points inside of them... I know that points.com exists but I really don't like the interface very much. Any other ideas? O |

thanks cblaisd; seems like a neat program with hyperlinks. I really like it http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I use mileagemanager.com
It takes a while to set it up but i've got about 20 different ff programs and this way i can look at it with just one glance. |
Why do you have 20 different programs?

I see that the latest update to MileTracker is dated today (Sept. 7, 2002). Fresh out of the software oven http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes, it's great software...
I just wonder if they'll ever get FareShare off the ground - sounds like a great program, and I want a copy! <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by Middle_Seat: I see that the latest update to MileTracker is dated today (Sept. 7, 2002). Thank you for the great sites. I have spent some time looking at both applications and they each serve a great purpose. If you have the time to set up the mileagemanager program, the 30-day free trial is definately worthe the effort. I do, however, like the desktop application for the miletracker. It is nice to kick back on a plane and think about what I can do with the points I have in all the programs I belong to (hotel, airline, car, etc.)
Thanks again for the post! |

Have to go with the Lurker on this one (1)!!

I use Quicken. Set up a file separate from your other accounts so it doesn't get confused with your money. Create each frequent flyer account as a separate bank account.

Using the link above, I just downloaded and installed MileTracker... but can't get it to work. Hopefully I can tap into the vast experience of the good readership for help.
I created a user and 4 accounts for starters, and attempted to get balances. Didn't work - "Unknown" returned for each balance. Saw the hyperlink called "Auto Navigate" for each which I clicked to get to the respective sites. Each automatically populated a userid or account number and password as entered in the account setup of MileTracker. Once I clicked the "Login" or equivalent button, I was shown each of my balances (evidence to me that I had at least entered them correctly... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif). So... what am I doing wrong that I can't just get the balances without "Auto Navigate"?? I'm pretty sure it isn't a cookie issue... I allow cookies without much restriction. Another funny thing... if I check for software updates (which it asks me to do EVERY time I start the program), it says "Unable to obtain upgrade information. Please try again later or visit http://www.miletracker.com for upgrade information.". Something isn't right.. HELP!! Thoughts (constructive ones anyway... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif) appeciated... |
Do any of these look your balances up at airline websites for you or does everything require manual entries and how much do they cost?

After starting the thread, I decided to install MileTracker (http://www.moonlightlabs.com/miletracker.html) , and it works wonderfully. It automatically checks my balances (I get errors on one: Alaska Airlines, but I've only gotten a 500 mile promo from them). I've got a list of about 16, and I click on 'update balances' and it does it all for me.
