IcelandAir

Is IcelandAir a partner of any US airline or a member of any of the alliances?

Skylink USA Feb 28, 2003 5:40 pm

It used to be a TWA partner. I think it's a SAS partner. Check the Scandinavian Airlines website.

For Americans, this could be of use if you fly on UA and deposit miles on SK. I once got an LH award by flying mostly UA. This was when LH gave 1,000 mi minimum miles on UA while UA only gave actual miles for United Shuttle.

I can confirm that Icelandair is a partner of SAS.

Amtrak too...

ratnasam Feb 28, 2003 8:08 pm

Can Icelandic miles be transferred to Amtrak?

raffy Feb 28, 2003 8:19 pm

You can transfer Diners Club points into the IcelandAir program as well for free tickets.

Icelandic miles cannot be transferred to Amtrak. All Amtrak GuestRewards members, however, are eligible for 2-for-1 travel on IcelandAir.
