How many miles/points did you redeem in 2002?
 

After a couple years of serious hoarding, I came to the conclusion last year that I was going to start spending some of my miles and points before they lost even more value than they already had. Here's what I redeemed last year:

airline miles: 720,000 on AA and AS

hotel points: 250,000 on Hilton

Miles: about 80000 on upgrades
and just spend 80000 on tickets to LAS (See thread in AA about that http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif)
Just remembered 125000 points for a concorde award too
Stickers: too many to count (over 50)

265,000 redeemed in 2003 YTD.

180,000 US for 2 biz class tickets to Sydney
40,000 US for 2 coach class tickets to Vegas
50,000 US for 2 coach class tickets to Vegas

This year, expected to redeem a bunch of miles as soon as UA award redemption on US miles opens up for Hawaii...

* 600'000 UA/Mileage Plus miles (UA upgrades, award tickets on SQ)
* 200'000 KLM/Flying/Durchman (KLM award flights)
* 50'000 swiss/Qualiflyer (2 inner European business class award tickets)
* 520'000 (only possible because Senators are allowed to go negativ by 160'000 miles) LH/NG miles&more: many upgrades from eco to business or business to first for Gisela and I (includes upgrades on Lauda to/from Australia)

2002

I have lots of DL, AA, and NW that I will continue to hoard. I am almost completely out of the hotel programs and will no longer aggressively pursue hotel points.

I feel lucky that I've been able to spend almost one million points, for the most part getting the dates/routes I wanted and maximizing most stopover allowances.

2002:

360k AA miles for 4 C-class seats on CX to BKK (with/for friends)

100k Hilton points for 3 nights in SFO

89k Starwood points for nights in Sevilla, Princeville, and Bangkok

100k AA miles for 2 F-class seats to HNL

10k UA miles for 2 interisland seats on Aloha

60k UA miles for 2 y-class seats on Mexicana to Cancun for friends

260k DL miles for 4 seats (2-y and 2-C) to Madrid (with/for friends)

Planned so far for 2003:

360k AA miles for 4 C-class seats to Madrid, Warsaw, and out of Prague on AA/BA

60k Starwood points for hotel nights in Spain

40K for a transoceanic DL upgrade.

75K in expiring Qualiflyer miles for 3 AA roundtrips (SEA-JFK) for my brother's family.

10K in UA miles for a domestic upgrade.

I tranferred about 90K Hilton points to UA, since Hilton threatened to expire them.
