Help: Double earning points?

I'm a newbie to Frequent Flyer programs so forgive if this sounds ignorant.

Hypothetically, say I am enrolled in two different FFlyer programs (take your pick), say Air France and United. And let's say both of them partner with Hyatt hotels and give you 500 miles if you stay there. So if I were to check into a Hyatt hotel, would i be earning for BOTH flyer programs or just one? Please help. Thanks!!

No, just one.....but that would be really nice ...just imagine getting miles for all my airline programs from the same hotel stay.

Darn. That sucks. Oh!! Here's another question that's been killin' me:

Say you're going on a 2000 mile round trip. If I buy like 3 tickets, family/friends, do I get just 2000 miles or do i get 6000?

Thanks again for the help.

You may only accrue mileage for tickets issued and flown in your name. You cannot get the miles for your friends' tickets, even if you buy them.
