Are there any automatic upgrade programs left?

Are there any FF programs left that have automatic upgrades to business? I know that United sure doesn't do it (at least, not for me and I have their highest level). I am willing to COMP to any carrier that offers this service.

CO and NW offer domestic upgrades complementary to elites. It is automatic assuming you clear the electronic computer system.

AA offers free upgrades to elites on flights within North America if you pay full (Y) or nearly-full (B) fares. They function like upgrades on 500-mile upgrade credits in terms of when they're confirmed, capacity controls, etc., except that no credits are taken from your account.

That's mighty nice of you. But you may need them to reciprocate, which is a might bit harder at the top level<g>.

AirTran does for $35 over their full fare I believe.

Are you asking about domestic or international travel? I doubt you will find anyone willing to give you automatic upgrades on International segments at any level.

AS does for MVPGolds - You can upgrade to F if a seat is available, no matter fare.
However, as you are a DL flyer, this is probably not an option.

Great for Left Coasters though http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.

Does AA offer this to OneWorld elites?

A fellow FT'er told me that Mexicana offers automatic upgrades to its top tier members.

Yes, NW as a Platnium elite, which by the way is only 75,000 miles does free upgrades to first on all domestic service for you and a companion, plus you can upgrade on CO flts as well for free.

MX offers free upgrades to Golds confirmed 7 days in advance from any fare -- however you have to call to confirm (it isn't automatic). Also, the upgrades are booked in D (discounted business class) rather than in a special upgrade inventory.

MX offers free upgrades to Silvers from full fares only, I think. At the airport may be a different story. They'll also known to offer Hottie Operational Upgrades©. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
