Hilton profile update
 

Call me stupid, but I can find the profile update on Hilton, but nothing about the 1000 points offered to update into my account. I used to be able to find it, can someone please help me.

Some people get it and some don't when they go into update their profile through the normal menus. I don't believe the old link is working anymore. I do know, at least for me, that setting up a username and password instead of using your account number gave me the bonus points when I did it, and I wasn't even looking for them.

I think it depends on what you do. You used to be able to change a bed-type preference or anything like that and it would work. Now, you need to change something more substantial - like a phone number or email address.

Is this another bonus gone?

I did one yesterday (12/31) and got the 500 points. Changed bed type only and the bonus box popped up when I hit the update button.

I also updated my profile twice last night (12-31) and it worked.

But I just tried changing all sorts of things today (1-01) and can't get it to work. It updates, just doesn't post any points.

Maybe a system issue. We have to wait and see tomorrow.

The link is gone, but when you go into your profile and click on something to change (even if you are changing it to what it is alreasy) when you exit it you will get the 500 points. The link stopped working a while ago. They may not have reset the 1/4'ly counter yet, last night I did an update and got the points, but today it's not popping up.

I updated on 1/1 & got -0-. So I phoned to learn that there are no longer any joining bonus or update bonus being given. Hopefully next quarter they will do it again.

I could not get the HH system to take any changes in my profile, I called HH CS told them the problem and was told "we have been told we are having problems". I was given 500pts. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Nothing from the website this AM. I called CS, and they performed an auto update for 500 points. I was told by CS however, that it should be up and running, but like I said, no dice.

Looking at my account history, I show Profile Update Bonus points on 5/1/02, 8/1/02, and 11/1/02.

Wouldn't that suggest that the next profile update time is on 2/1/02 and not on 1/1/02?

No, that suggests that you happened to update your profile on those dates. The profile bonus has always been on a calendar quarter basis.

Actually, those dates refer not to the transactions, but rather to the statement dates (e.g., bonus for an update made in July 2002 would appear on the 8/1/02 statement).

I tried an account that had not been updated this quarter and nothing so maybe the bonus points are gone.

I've made changes to my profile every day since January 1st, but not received any points for doing so. Finally called Customer Service this morning, and was told they are no longer giving points for updating one's profile. That conflicts with several of the above posts. Is it just a matter of which customer service rep answers the phone? Does anyone have a suggestion for how to get those points?

I tried the profile update too and a HH CSR also told me that they were no longer giving bonus points for updates though they might start giving them out again in the summer. Is this really the policy or just the CSR???
