UPDATE
Just got off the phone with Hertz... They called to say they have been investigating the whole situation - and reading Flyertalk.... They sounded concerned about the whole issue, and have had programmers working on making sure the situation doesn't happen again. I must say that it was nice to see that Hertz was paying attention.
