OMNI: Y2K report
Don't know how many of you have seen this floating around the internet:
Subject: COMMITTEE REPORT, Y TO K PROBLEM] To: Management From: Technical Support Re: Y to K problem Our staff has now completed 18 months of work (on time, we might add, and on budget as well!) on what you call the "Y to K" problem. We have gone through every line of code in every computer throughout our company. We have analyzed all databases, all data files, including backups and historic archives, and have modified all programs and all data to reflect the change. (Although we don't understand why you want the changes made, we are proud to report that the project is done as last.) According to your new standards, therefore, effective immediately you will see changes for: Januark, Februark, March, April, Mak, June, Julk, August, September, October, November and December. You'll also note: Sundak, Mondak, Tuesdak, Wednesdak, Thursdak, Fridak, and Saturdak. We trust this is satisfactork, because to be very honest with kou, none of this has made ank sense to us. However, I understand you feel this is a global problem and our team was glad to help out ank wak we can. And bk the wak, what does the kear 2000 have to do with all this? Speaking of which, what do kou think we ought to do next kear when the two-digit kear rolls over from 99 to 00? It has the potential to cause a few problems. |
