Curious as to the good, bad or ugly opinions or reviews of this service from anyone who is using this? My motivation is perhaps I will score some sort of travel vacation stuff that I'd not normally get with all the miles in various airlines I have accumulated between me and those in my household. Feedback please?

I personally find points.com to be ruinous in terms of valuations; depending on programs, you could incur up to 90% loss on a transfer.

Look at the webflyer/insideflyer mileage converter tool to check on optimal methods to consolidate accounts. Of course, if your accounts are well stocked anyway (50k+), go into burn mode on them and finish them off.

For fun, I decided to see how bad it gets:

AA 20,000 -> AC: 1908. That's right, 1,908.
AA 20,000 -> AS: 1778.
AS 20,000 -> DL: 1720.
AC 20,000 -> AA: 5930. Hey, that's less than 75% breakage!
CX 15,000 -> AA: 62. (!!!)

This is as a non-gold member. Suffice it to say, I'm unimpressed.

The only thing points.com is useful for is tiny transfers every 18 months to keep miles from expiring. Even then, its value is debateable.

it took 8 months to post the 10 bonus miles for enrolling ....... with weeks in between email responses ......

Just "traded" 9500 Hawiian miles for 2200 AA miles :mad:, hated to do it, but was within 1 week of losing them completely. At least I captured some miles I will use.:p

This seems like robbery without a gun! SHAMEFUL the exchange rates they offer.
