CHARLES SCHWAB problems with AA promo?
It would be a great help if you could please advise on following: Schwab and AA had a promo that when open a ONE ACCOUNT they credit you with AA miles. We met all the rules and was told by their rep that the miles were earned and received by us. Now we realize that it was never done, Schwab says that since the promo is over there is nothing they could do.
Any alike problems? How did you solve it? |
I wish you good luck. During the AA promo, I sent money to Schwab for a new One account. We already had one we'd had for years, so we got a new one. Subsequently, I wrote a check to pay a bill from our original account, and when I questioned Schwab about my miles, I was informed that the account must be made with "new funds", and since I'd written a check on the other account, we weren't eligible for the miles. (?) That made no sense to me, since the accounts weren't linked in any way, but even after numerous phone calls and letters, the miles were declined. I did get the money returned with no fees deducted. I'm still seething. Jean

Perhaps you could send AAdvantage customer service a very polite letter with documentation and ask them to credit the miles. You never know till you ask.
|
Are you referring to the promo from over a year ago?
|
I got miles from that promo. It was pretty long ago.
|
Yes, the promo was originally a year ago.
They were brand new funds. I tried to talk to AA and they said if I write to them they will forward the letter to Schwab. |
