Welcome to FT. Check the sticky at the top of this forum and you will find this thread:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=457077 If you buy a ticket, the $ spent gets miles. Your butt in the seat may get miles depending on the airline and the fare class - check with your airline. Do you fly the same airline for all flights? Same alliance? Either way, all airlines have a card, so do hotel chains. Personally I like SPG. One point per $ charged. 20K points converts to 25K miles in the programs I use. Good luck. |
I had a hard time understanding your questions but I'll try to answer...
Most traditional mileage cards give you one frequent flyer mile per dollar spent (this is general and not 100% true - specific charges may give you more than 1 FF mile). Most airline companies now want 25k miles for a roundtrip ticket to any US destination. However, it's become a LOT more difficult to get a r/t ticket on the dates you REALLY want, and often times it will cost you 50k FF miles to get that ticket. As such... There are a quite a few people that have converted to the "No Hassle" type of credit cards, which in essence, save up some dollar value to allow you to purchase a plane ticket on any airline. JP |
A really good start for you would be the Credit Card section pages of my website below. Start with Important Starting Info, then take an hour to read the other three pages of specific offers.
