How to get 15K United FF miles quickly??
Can anyone suggest a way to get 15-25K United FF miles quickly for Christmas travel? Not sure if it is possible, but if anyone knows how, it is you guys. I found this site recently, and have been reading non-stop for three days! Thanks for any and all help.

Welcome to FT fduvall! I hope you'll find we're a friendly, helpful bunch!
The first way I can think of is to buy five subscriptions to FlyerTalk's parent publication, Inside Flyer--check this link: http://www.insideflyer.com/united |
Apply for the First USA Signature Visa Card - 15,000 miles for 1st use!
Or/ if you have Membership Miles from Amex - and a Continental One Pass Account -Take out an AMTRAK Guest Rewards Account - then transfer the Membership Miles into your Continental Account Transfer the resultant total Continental Miles into your AMTRAK account - then transfer the total resultant AMTRAK miles into your United account. (Transfer through AMTRAK only in increments of 5,000) [This message has been edited by ReneeMoss (edited 10-30-2002).] |

Personal Miles and Give Miles are available at up to 15,000 miles per year for each program. More expensive than some other options such as flying, but certainly an option.

I think you will either have to get on a plane and fly somewhere, or buy them to have them in time for the holidays. Anything else may take too long to get them to you and there will not be any seats left.

Thanks for the replies so far. I may be giving magazine subscriptions to my friends and family for Christmas this year. Any idea how long it takes the miles to credit? Thanks, again.

Have you ever wanted to see Tokyo this time of year? Or maybe Hong Kong? Or Sydney? Or Auckland?
Well, those trips will get you the miles you need. Oh, wait, maybe not. I am thinking of it from here on the east coast, and you have to shave off 2500 miles. So that 8,000 miles from here to Tokyo becomes 5,500 miles. Well, Sydney and Auckland will probably still work. |
15,000 is great but I just got an offer for 20,000 miles and finally signed up. try and hold out for more assuming you dont have the mileage plus credit card yet.

FDuvall,
Welcome to Flyertalk. You will likely get some additional suggestions from United flyers in the airline's specific forum. Hence I'm going to move your thread there. Best of luck on your quest. ------------------ Craig6z Buzz & United Moderator [email protected] |
