What Program?
Hello!
My first post on Flyertalk! what is the best Star Alliance FF program to join (European only)Someone said LH but they welcome miles are not that good...?? Secondly what Chinese airlines have/are members of FF programs (only from People's Republic of China). Thanks! Xinhua. |
welcome to 'our' FlyerTalk board
please try to give us some more informations, because there is no THE best program - it depends on: what are your flying patterns (class: paid eco/business/first, from where to where how many times, how many basic flight miles/year, what will you most likely do with the miles? (upgrades on which airline, award tickets from where to where with which airline and for whom: yourself, partners, third persons, flying together or not). Hello!
Excuse my lack of details!!! Well really I want the program with the widest range of rewards (airline). I would mainly be flying ECO and mainly short hops 2-4 ret. journeys a year...I would be likely to be only using European airlines aswell... Rewards for me (of course http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) I am a member of Frequence Plus and am very pleased with it. Is BMI's program any good?? I can't find any info on their site... Kind Regards, Xinhua. P.S. ANyone know about the chinese airlines? [This message has been edited by Xinhua (edited 10-28-2002).] |
China eastern airline partners with Northwest airline.
China sourthern airline partners with Delta airline. Air China has been a Lufthansa Miles & More partner, you earn lufthansa miles with air china flights. however air china is not a part of Star alliance. do you happen to know if China eastern, china southern airine are good investment opportunities? ------------------ Searching for bonus mile offers taking your too much time? How about latest bonus mile offers nicely ORGANIZED in one place? Check out miles.HotDealz - readers like yourself can post bonus mile deals directly to the frontpage! You can do it for about £600. No in that the reward earning / redemption rates are not as good as other airlines (and it sounds like this is what you're looking for). While I'm not a member of it, I believe that Lufthansa's Miles & More might be better for you (Rudi will be far more help to you here than I am). They have very attractive rules regarding point earning, status bonuses (although this may not be appropriate), points expiry, status expiry and they have a Star Alliance Award chart. Edited to add: in the light of milehunter's info re Lufthansa's partnership with Air China, this seems like it might well be the best option. Xinhua, China Southern's FF program is called Sky Pearl Club and can be found at:
http://flyaow.com/viewer.cgi?www.cs-...me/welcome.htm Air China's program is called Companion, and China Airlines has Dynasty Flyer. Don't know much about these programs, I just looked them up in a search engine. yorock |
China Eastern is a member of AsiaMiles which means you can earn and redeem AsiaMiles on their flights (but only in more or less full fare economy).
Dragonair flies to a lot of places in the mainland from HKG and is also an AsiaMiles member. Since Cathay Pacific will be restarting flights to the mainland soon you might want to consider AsiaMiles/MarcoPolo Club as your primary FF scheme - although it is OneWorld, not Star. Hello!
Thanks guys lots of valuable information.LH probably is the better. I have booked AF to China but will be taking an internal flight (don't know what airline yet...) Thanks for the info. Will wait until Jan. before I join any program to see if LH has the offer you were referring to! BRgds, Xinhua. (Ps. I live in Ireland) |
